“First Class Movers and Making-It-Home are making a true difference for the environment and low-income people in our community. By working together to transport gently used, donated furniture to formerly homeless people, we help them get a fresh start and avoid wasteful, unnecessary dumping in our landfills.”
Making-It-Home provides gently used furniture to formerly homeless people who are leaving emergency shelter and moving to voucher-supported apartments in Bergen County. Collaborating with business to achieve our goals and simultaneously meet the needs of this underserved population is at the heart of what we do. That’s where First Class Movers comes in. This caring and dedicated company volunteers its time and personnel to pick up furniture from our donors and deliver it to our clients. The services provided by First Class Movers make a real difference in the lives of low-income families who want to live in a safe environment that improves their quality of life and ability to achieve greater self-sufficiency and a brighter future. With the help of First Class Movers, Making-It-Home is able to ensure that those who are ready to make a fresh start are able to move into their new apartments knowing they will have basic furniture on which to sleep, sit, and eat. This essential ingredient “makes their house a home” and provides a safe, healthy and comfortable environment that encourages them to secure and hold down a job, their children to achieve in school, and individuals and families to thrive.
